Neurodevelopmental care of the at-risk Newborn

Workshops on Neurodevelopmental care of the at-risk newborns were conducted in May and July 2017 in Southern and Western Provinces with collaboration of Family Health Bureau, World Health Organization and Sri Lanka Association for child development.
The audience consisted of Neonatologists, Paediatricians and Medical officers of Neonatal and postnatal units. The Resource were personnel actively involved in provision of early intervention in their respective multidisciplinary care clinics for at risk newborns in their respective hospitals.
The objectives were Early detection of newborns at risk of neurodevelopmental problems and highlight the Importance of multi-disciplinary care and stimulatory techniques in improving outcomes
The workshops were well attended and highly commended by the participants.
Similar workshops will be conducted in the remaining provinces in the future.
